Ontario Power Generation Q2 net income grows YOY

Ontario Power Generation Inc. booked net income attributable to shareholders of C$351 million in second-quarter 2019, up from C$121 million in the same period of 2018.

Revenue in the most recent quarter rose year over year, to C$1.57 billion from C$1.28 billion, according to an Aug. 15 earnings release.

The company generated 20.2 TWh of electricity in the second quarter, up from 17.2 TWh in the corresponding period of 2018. Output from the provincial government-owned company's nuclear and hydroelectric assets was higher due to fewer planned outages and, for the hydro resources, higher water flows.
