Enel Green Power España has expanded its presence in Spain's renewable energy sector with construction underway on three wind farms, totaling 128 MW.
The three projects are the 46.8-MW Muniesa, the 41.4 MW Farlán and the 39.9 MW San Pedro de Alacón wind farms in the region of Aragon's Teruel province, according to an Oct. 8 news release.
The projects, which represent a total investment of approximately €130 million, are expected to enter into operation by the end of 2019. They are part of the overall 540 MW awarded to the company following a renewable tender in May 2017.
"This milestone represents the first of a number of new [Enel Green Power] developments that will help to diversify Spain's energy mix through wind and solar capacity, and will assist the country to reach its renewable targets," said Antonio Cammisecra, head of Enel Green Power.
Enel Green Power is the global renewable energy business line of Enel SpA.
