South Korean consumer electronics giant LG Electronics Inc. started a program to cut weekly working hours to 52 in a number of its business divisions, Yonhap News Agency reported Feb. 2.
The pilot program started Feb. 1 in some of the company's home entertainment divisions, the South Korean news agency said, adding that LG plans to expand the initiative to other divisions.
LG is reportedly the latest among South Korean companies to slash its weekly working hours. Shinsegae International Co. Ltd. in January reduced its weekly hours to 35, according to the report.
