Mercantil Commercebank changed its name to Mercantil Bank NA.

The Coral Gables, Fla.-based bank got OCC approval for the name change recently, with parent Mercantil Commercebank Trust Co. also changing its name to Mercantil Trust Co. NA and the bank's trust and investment subsidiaries also rebranding to become Mercantil Trust Company and Mercantil Investment Services.

In its Jan. 27 news release, the bank said it plans to continue growth in the South Florida, Texas and New York markets.

Mercantil Servicios Financieros C.A. is the ultimate parent of both institutions.
