NewcrestMining Ltd. said April 12 that is has recommenced mining at theToguraci goldmine, part of the Gosowong operation on Halmahera Island in Indonesia.

Mining was suspended at Gosowong following a in earlyFebruary that trapped one worker 300 meters underground in the Kencana mine.The worker spent eight days underground before being .

During the suspension, technical studies and rehabilitationwork was undertaken at both the Toguraci and Kencana mines and some low gradestockpiled material was processed.

Newcrest said the rate of mining at Toguraci will graduallyincrease over time, with full production not expected for at least two months.

Mining at the Kencana mine remains suspended and technicalstudies are well advanced but not yet completed.

Newcrest will update its fiscal 2016 production and costguidance for the Gosowong operation once its recovery and resumption plans havebeen completed.
