Japanese electronics company Panasonic Corp. on March 13 said that it started large-scale manufacturing of prismatic-type automotive lithium-ion batteries in its Dalian, China, factory.

According to the release, these batteries are made for "eco-conscious" vehicles, which includes hybrids and electric cars.
