Paloma Capital raises £80M in 1st close of new real estate fund

Private equity real estate investor Paloma Capital secured £80 million from 14 investors in the first closing of its Paloma Real Estate Fund II, which primarily focuses on smaller, multi-let warehouse estates in urban areas, Property Week reported.

Paloma Capital is targeting £150 million for the eight-year fund after receiving commitments from sovereign wealth funds, state pension funds, endowments, charities and family offices from the U.K., continental Europe and the Middle East in the initial round of funding, with more equity closings expected in the next nine months.

Furthermore, the fund is in the process of carrying out five acquisition deals worth £40 million, the Sept. 7 report added. The transactions, representing a yield of 8.2%, involve two multi-let warehouse estates in Wakefield and Chester, U.K., and another two warehouse estates, as well as a portfolio of three single-let warehouses.
