BlackRock Inc. is moving some senior staff for its global emerging markets team to Hong Kong as it sees signs of growth in the region, the South China Morning Post reported June 5, citing Belinda Boa, head of active investments for the Asia-Pacific region.
The company named Andrew Swan as Hong Kong-based head of global emerging markets and Asian equities. Doug Chow was appointed as global head of active equities integration and data, while Gordon Fraser will relocate to Hong Kong to become lead portfolio manager for some of the global core emerging market strategies, the news outlet said.
Boa said the move reflects the importance of the Asia-Pacific region to the asset manager and is also part of efforts to use technology and data analytics to support its global research platform.
