Bear Creek Mining Corp. said May 10 that it secured mine construction and water permits for its Corani silver-lead-zinc project in Peru.
The mine construction permit authorizes the stripping and extraction of ore as well as the construction of auxiliary and complementary mine facilities. The water permit, meanwhile, confirms that the necessary water resources for the project are available for use.
A separate permit for the construction of the process plant, waste and tailings disposal, water storage system and processing-related facilities is being reviewed.
In addition, Bear Creek said it will kick off phase-two detailed engineering work at Corani in the near future, which is expected to lead into an engineering, procurement and construction management contract.
