Japan's current account surplus increased 27.1% from a year ago to ¥1.176 trillion in June, preliminary data from the country's Ministry of Finance showed.
Exports were up 9.3% to ¥6.975 trillion following a 10.6% rise in the previous month. Imports increased 4.9% year over year to ¥6.155 trillion in June following a 13.7% increase in May.
The country's goods trade surplus rose 59.8% from a year earlier to ¥820.5 billion after a 180.2% increase in the trade deficit in May.
