NTT Data fiscal Q2 profit falls YOY

NTT DATA Corp. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Sept. 30 came to ¥11.75 per share, a decrease from ¥11.88 per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥16.48 billion, a decrease from ¥16.67 billion in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin fell to 3.4% from 4.3% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue rose 24.0% year over year to ¥480.52 billion from ¥387.43 billion, and total operating expenses climbed 25.4% from the prior-year period to ¥450.62 billion from ¥359.47 billion.

Reported net income declined 27.7% year over year to ¥13.74 billion, or ¥9.80 per share, from ¥19.00 billion, or ¥13.55 per share.
