Springfield Properties secures land for 1,900 homes in Scotland

Homebuilder Springfield Properties PLC obtained an approximately 400-acre zoned land in the West Lothian area of Scotland for the construction of 1,900 homes with a gross development value of more than £400 million.

The company is presently formulating a master plan for the site in Livingston and intends to lodge papers for the 600-home initial phase by early 2019. The wider development will also include commercial accommodation and a school. The homebuilder will pay for the site in installments, subject to planning approval.

Strong demand for residential property in the area has led the West Lothian council to plan the delivery of 3,000 new homes by 2022, according to a release.
