Nissan US sales grow 7.6% YOY in December 2018

Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. reported a 7.6% year-over-year increase in U.S. auto sales for December 2018.

The company sold 148,720 units in December, compared with 138,226 units in the same period a year ago.

Nissan group total car sales slipped 2.1% year over year to 53,546 units. Nissan group truck sales rose 14.0% during the month.

The company sold 1,667 Leaf all-electric vehicles in December, a 1534.3% year-over-year jump.

Sales of company's Rogue SUV rose 5.9% to 42,523 units, a record.

In 2018, the company sold 1.5 million units, down 6.2% versus 2017.
