Starts Corp. Inc. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2014, amounted to ¥51.20 per share, an increase from ¥49.06 per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥2.69 billion, a gain of 14.8% from ¥2.35 billion in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin fell to 5.8% from 6.6% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue grew 29.5% on an annual basis to ¥46.22 billion from ¥35.70 billion, and total operating expenses increased 32.8% from the prior-year period to ¥41.96 billion from ¥31.59 billion.
Reported net income grew 19.9% from the prior-year period to ¥2.08 billion, or ¥39.44 per share, from ¥1.73 billion, or ¥36.17 per share.
As of Feb. 13, US$1 was equivalent to ¥118.68.
