Police raided the home of former Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak as part of an investigation into a $3.2 billion corruption scandal, according to The Guardian.
Law enforcement authorities searched five locations for evidence connected to government investment fund 1Malaysia Development Bhd, or 1MDB, including Najib's prime ministerial office and condominiums in his name.
Malaysia's new prime minister Mahathir Mohamad had barred Najib from leaving the country, citing the 1MDB scandal.
As prime minister, Najib did not order any arrests after revelations that $4 billion was missing from 1MDB, of which about $681 million had allegedly been transferred to Najib's account. Najib had also barred the U.S. and Switzerland from investigating the scandal, according to the report.
