Oil and gas production in Texas grew in February, the state Railroad Commission reported April 27.
The state produced 529.4 Bcf of gas in February, or 18.9 Bcf/d, according to preliminary production reports. That compared to January's preliminary average of 18.5 Bcf/d. February 2017's initial reading was 18.8 Bcf/d.
The Railroad Commission reported February preliminary oil production of 76.5 million barrels, or 2.73 million barrels per day, up from 2.60 MMbbl/d in January. February 2017 saw 2.51 MMbbl/d on a preliminary basis.
Webb County was the state's largest gas producer in February, with a preliminary reading of 52.8 Bcf. Tarrant County was in second place, reporting 31.2 Bcf.
Midland County was the state's largest oil producer in February, with a preliminary total of 7.6 MMbbl. Karnes County came in second, with 5.6 MMbbl.
