PERILS ups loss estimate from trio of October 2016 quakes in Italy

PERILS said Jan. 26 that its second loss estimate for the series of earthquakes that hit central Italy between Oct. 26 and Oct. 30, 2016, is €125 million, up from an initial loss estimate of €31 million in December 2016.

The Zurich-based catastrophe insurance data provider said it will release its next loss estimate Oct. 26, 2017. It noted that a six-month update will not be provided because the property insurance market loss is below €200 million.
