Prosecutors arrested an employee of South Korea's KB Kookmin Bank over allegations of hiring irregularities, The Korea Herald reported March 6.
The human resource officer, whose name was not disclosed, was charged with obstruction of business for taking part in the lender's suspected illicit hiring practices.
The Seoul Southern District Court issued a warrant to detain the employee, citing concerns that he may destroy evidence, the report added.
In January, the country's Financial Supervisory Service filed criminal complaints against KB Kookmin Bank and four other lenders over 22 suspected illegal hiring cases, following investigations that ran between January and December 2017.
KB Kookmin Bank was also suspected of creating a hiring list of 20 names earmarked for preferential treatment in the recruitment process.
