IMAX Corp. inked another five-theater deal in India.

In a partnership with PVR Ltd., an exhibition chain in India, the company will set up the theaters in major metropolitan markets in a combination of new and existing flagship PVR Multiplex cinemas, according to a Feb. 26 news release.

The exhibitor currently operates a total of seven IMAX theaters across India. PVR Cinemas has tripled its IMAX commitment to a total of 15 theaters from five theaters.

The agreement brings IMAX's theater footprint in India to 31, with 14 operational and 17 set to open.
