Samkrg Pistons and Rings Ltd said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Sept. 30 amounted to 4.10 Indian rupees per share, an increase of 7.8% from 3.80 rupees per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 40.2 million rupees, a gain of 7.7% from 37.4 million rupees in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin increased to 6.5% from 5.8% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue fell on an annual basis to 622.0 million rupees from 641.3 million rupees, and total operating expenses decreased on an annual basis to 552.8 million rupees from 572.4 million rupees.
Reported net income rose 12.7% on an annual basis to 47.4 million rupees, or 4.83 rupees per share, from 42.1 million rupees, or 4.28 rupees per share.
As of Nov. 10, US$1 was equivalent to 66.24 Indian rupees.
