Nissan US sales up 13.2% YOY in August

Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. on Sept. 4 posted a 13.2% year-over-year increase in U.S. sales for August.

The Japanese automaker sold 127,230 units during the month, compared with 112,376 units sold in August 2018.

Nissan group total truck sales came in at 83,243 units, up 13.9% from 73,065 units sold in the same month a year ago. The company's total car sales increased by 11.9% year over year to 43,987 units.

Sales of Nissan's Leaf electric vehicles totaled 1,117 units in August, down 15.1% from 1,315 units sold in the year-ago period.

In July, Nissan reported a 9.1% year-over-year decline in U.S. sales.
