Chia Her Industrial Q1 loss widens 63.7% YOY

Chia Her Industrial Co. Ltd. said its first-quarter normalized net income was a loss of 51 Taiwan cents per share, compared with a loss of 32 cents per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was a loss of NT$61.2 million, compared with a loss of NT$37.4 million in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin dropped to negative 9.5% from negative 5.8% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue totaled NT$647.4 million, compared with NT$649.5 million in the year-earlier period, and total operating expenses increased 5.1% from the prior-year period to NT$745.5 million from NT$709.4 million.

Reported net income totaled a loss of NT$98.7 million, or a loss of 82 cents per share, compared to a loss of NT$61.6 million, or a loss of 52 cents per share, in the year-earlier period.
