Capital Dynamics AG on Dec. 20 said it energized two solar projects with a combined capacity of 107.8 MW in Kern County, Calif., one day after achieving commercial operation at the first phase of its California Flats solar project in the state.
The Beacon 2 and Beacon 5 facilities will sell power to Los Angeles Department of Water and Power under two separate 25-year power purchase agreements.
"With the commercial launch of Beacon II and V, we continue to build, operate and expand a strong portfolio of renewable power projects in the US," John Breckenridge, head of Capital Dynamics' Clean Energy Infrastructure team, said in a statement. "With our portfolio of 100 project sites, once all projects come online, we will be second among US solar power project owners based on total generational capacity."
Capital Dynamics acquired the Beacon projects from SunEdison in February 2016.
