HSBC Argentina raises 5B pesos in bond offering

Buenos Aires-based HSBC Bank Argentina SA said it raised about 5.00 billion Argentine pesos through the offering of two tranches of negotiable bonds.

In an oversubscribed offering, the bank received 2.10 billion pesos in offers for its 36-month series 9 bonds, for which it will issue 997.8 million pesos. Meanwhile, HSBC Argentina received offers worth 7.78 billion pesos for the 18-month series 10 securities, out of which it will issue about 4.00 billion pesos.

The notes will be issued March 27 and are part of a bond program worth up to $1.00 billion, or its equivalent in other currencies.

As of March 22, US$1 was equivalent to 20.25 Argentine pesos.
