Casino Guichard-Perrachon SA said Oct. 15 that it entered into a partnership with the Quattrucci family that will see 12 stores operated by Claude and Bruno Quattrucci, along with their children, join the French food retailer.
Of the 12 family-run stores that specialize in fresh products, seven will become part of Casino's marché frais Géant banner, while the remaining five will be operated under the marché frais Leader Price brand.
The stores, which are in north-central France's Ile-de-France region and the Oise department in the north of the country, will be supplied by Casino Group beginning Jan. 1, 2019.
The hypermarket and convenience store operator added that the stores operated by the Quattrucci family generated sales of more than €300 million in 2017.
The move is in line with Casino's development strategy that focuses on partnerships with experienced food retailers.
In June, the company entered into a global purchasing alliance, called Horizon, with fellow retailers Auchan Retail, Metro AG and Schiever Group.
