Es-con Japan Q3 profit falls YOY

ES-CON JAPAN Ltd. said its third-quarter normalized net income was ¥5.48 per share, a decline of 28.0% from ¥7.61 per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥374.4 million, a decrease of 30.1% from ¥535.6 million in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin increased to 10.4% from 8.6% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue fell 41.9% year over year to ¥3.60 billion from ¥6.20 billion, and total operating expenses fell 45.8% on an annual basis to ¥2.79 billion from ¥5.14 billion.

Reported net income declined 43.3% on an annual basis to ¥485.9 million, or ¥7.11 per share, from ¥856.3 million, or ¥12.17 per share.

As of Nov. 9, US$1 was equivalent to ¥123.27.
