Laura Ashley Holdings PLC said its normalized net income for the fiscal second half ended Jan. 31 amounted to £9.0 million, a gain of 25.2% from £7.2 million in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis.
Total revenue grew year over year to £159.6 million from £157.2 million, and total operating expenses declined on an annual basis to £144.0 million from £145.5 million.
Reported net income increased 17.6% year over year to £12.0 million, or 2 pence per share, from £10.2 million, or 1 pence per share.
For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled 2 pence per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus normalized EPS estimate of 2 pence.
EPS rose 18.7% from 2 pence in the prior year.
Normalized net income was £14.3 million, a gain of 18.7% from £12.1 million in the prior year.
Full-year total revenue increased year over year to £303.6 million from £294.5 million, and total operating expenses rose on an annual basis to £280.2 million from £275.9 million.
The company said reported net income increased 16.6% on an annual basis to £18.3 million, or 3 pence per share, in the full year, from £15.7 million, or 2 pence per share.
