Nan Nan Resources suspends Kaiyuan coal mine ops pending mining extension permit

Nan Nan Resources Enterprise Ltd. will temporarily suspend mining operations at the Kaiyuan coal mine in China after its mining permit expired Dec. 31.

The company awaits extended area mining rights to increase the mining area to about 4.1165 square kilometers from 1.1596 square kilometers and allow the company to produce 900,000 tonnes per year of coal, increasing from 90,000 t/y under the existing permit.

Nan Nan Resources expects to receive the extension by the end of March 2019, it said in a same-day release.

The suspension of operations at Kaiyuan may negatively impact the company's financial performance for the year ending March 31, 2019.
