Spectrum Brands profit misses consensus by 20.6% in fiscal Q2

4912171 said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended March 29 was 61 cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 77 cents per share.

EPS fell 11.3% year over year from 69 cents.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $32.6 million, a decline of 10.8% from $36.5 million in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin fell to 3.1% from 3.6% in the year-earlier period.

otal revenue rose on an annual basis to $1.07 billion from $1.02 billion, and total operating expenses climbed 5.2% from the prior-year period to $ Spectrum Brands Holdings Inc.
