Black Cat Syndicate Ltd. said Sept. 23 that an updated indicated and inferred resource estimate for the Boundary and Trump deposits at the Bulong gold project in Western Australia led to contained gold rising 87% and 89%, respectively.
At a cutoff grade of 1.00 g/t for open pit resources and 2.00 g/t for underground resources, the estimate for the Boundary deposit grew to 625,000 tonnes grading 2.1 g/t gold for 41,100 ounces contained, with the Trump deposit hosting 256,000 tonnes grading 2.3 g/t for 18,900 ounces of contained gold.
The updated resource estimate for the Boundary deposit also represented a 7% increase in grade, while the updated estimate for the Trump deposit increased the grade by 27%.
The Boundary resource now covers 900 meters of the 6-kilometer Myhree-Boundary corridor. The Trump resource now covers 980 meters of the Trump corridor. The resource for both deposits remains open in all directions.
In total, the Bulong gold project's resource estimate increased to 206,000 ounces contained in 2.6 million tonnes grading 2.4 g/t gold, with a potential open pit resource of 168,000 ounces contained in 2.2 million tonnes grading 2.4 g/t gold.
Metallurgical test work and geotechnical studies at Myhree are in progress. An exploration drilling program across the project will begin in early October.
The company expects to upgrade and estimate the Bulong resource in the March 2020 quarter.
