McDonald's Corp. said March 6 that it is offering quarter-pound burgers made with fresh beef in approximately 3,500 restaurants in select U.S. markets.
The fast-food chain plans to introduce the burgers, which do not get prepared until a customer orders, across all participating U.S. restaurants by early May.
The fresh beef is available in the Quarter Pound and Signature Crafted Recipe menu items at McDonald's locations in Atlanta; Miami; Orlando, Fla.; Charlotte and Raleigh, N.C.; Memphis and Nashville, Tenn.; and Salt Lake City.
The Illinois-based company said it will be adding the fresh-beef burgers to markets including Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle over the next month as it progresses toward the nationwide rollout.
McDonald's first announced the switch to fresh beef in March 2017 and has tested the burgers in Dallas and Tulsa, Okla.
