Universal Health Services Q3 profit falls YOY

Universal Health Services Inc. said its adjusted EPS for the third quarter amounted to $1.99 per share, compared with the S&P Global Market Intelligence consensus normalized EPS estimate of $2.30 per share.

EPS declined 10.8% year over year from $2.23.

Adjusted net income attributable to the company totaled $176.3 million, a decline of 15.6% from $208.8 million in the prior-year period.

Net revenue increased 6.6% on an annual basis to $2.82 billion from $2.65 billion.

Net income attributable to the company declined 43.4% year over year to $97.2 million, or $1.10 per share, from $171.7 million, or $1.84 per share.

Universal Health Services expects adjusted EPS in the range of $9.60 to $9.90 for the full year 2019, a decrease from previous guidance in the range of $9.70 to $10.40.

For the full year, the S&P Global Market Intelligence consensus normalized EPS estimate is $10.26.
