German renewable energy developer Innogy SE has begun the construction of the 857-MW Triton Knoll offshore wind farm off the coast of Lincolnshire, England.
The first batch of wind turbine foundations are ready and will be installed out at sea as soon as the weather permits, according to a Jan. 9 news release.
The Triton Knoll wind farm will span over 145 square kilometers. Innogy will start the installation of the project's 9.5-MW wind turbines in 2021, once the foundation work is complete.
