Dankotuwa Porcelain fiscal Q3 profit falls YOY

Dankotuwa Porcelain PLC said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2014, was 5 Sri Lankan cents per share, a decrease of 70.5% from 17 cents per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 3.5 million rupees, a decline of 71.4% from 12.2 million rupees in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin fell to 0.5% from 2.6% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue climbed 35.7% year over year to 637.8 million rupees from 470.1 million rupees, and total operating expenses climbed 37.9% on an annual basis to 616.1 million rupees from 446.8 million rupees.

Reported net income fell 58.4% on an annual basis to 6.2 million rupees, or 9 cents per share, from 15.0 million rupees, or 21 cents per share.

As of Feb. 12, US$1 was equivalent to 132.72 Sri Lankan rupees.
