White Star Capital to open Toronto office

Venture capital firm White Star Capital LP is opening a Toronto office that will be led by Christophe Bourque, according to a statement from Bourque posted Sept. 4 on Medium.com.

Bourque, who has been at the firm's Montreal office since 2017, has been appointed general partner. He will help lead the firm's Canadian investment strategy.

Working alongside colleagues in New York and Montreal, Bourque and the team will look for investment opportunities in major tech hubs outside of the Silicon Valley. He will also help Canadian startups expand internationally, and work with portfolio companies in the U.S., Europe and Asia to leverage the Canadian tech ecosystem.

White Star Capital invests in technology with a focus on mobile, big data, gaming, social and software as a service.
