Emera names COO for Canada, US Northeast, Caribbean electric utilities

Emera Inc. on Feb. 2 named Rick Janega the COO for Electric Utilities in Canada, the U.S. Northeast and the Caribbean, effective March 31.

In his new role, he will oversee the company's electric utility investments in Atlantic Canada, Maine and the Caribbean. Janega has been with the company for almost 30 years and will retain his role as president and CEO of Emera Newfoundland & Labrador, according to a Feb. 2 news release.

He most recently led Emera's C$1.57 billion Maritime Link transmission project.
