Delphi Automotive profit misses consensus by 25.8% in Q3

Delphi Automotive PLC said its third-quarter normalized net income was $1.16 per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of $1.57 per share.

EPS climbed 5.9% year over year from $1.10.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $310.8 million, a gain from $299.5 million in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin declined to 7.2% from 7.3% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue rose 5.9% on an annual basis to $4.33 billion from $4.09 billion, and total operating expenses increased 5.8% from the prior-year period to $3.77 billion from $3.56 billion.

Reported net income grew 35.5% on an annual basis to $395.4 million, or $1.48 per share, from $291.9 million, or $1.07 per share.
