CVS Health Corp. on Sept. 5 asked its customers to stop bringing firearms in its stores.
The Rhode Island-based pharmacy chain follows similar initiatives by Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc. and Kroger Co.. Retail giant Walmart Inc. has also recently restricted ammunition sales at its stores.
"We join a growing chorus of businesses in requesting that our customers, other than authorized law enforcement personnel, do not bring firearms into our stores," the company said in a statement.
