Tohto Suisan Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal fourth quarter ended March 31 was ¥71.16 per share, an increase from ¥20.73 per share in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥283.1 million, an increase from ¥82.5 million in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin rose to 1.0% from 0.3% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue climbed on an annual basis to ¥29.44 billion from ¥28.28 billion, and total operating expenses increased year over year to ¥29.12 billion from ¥28.22 billion.
Reported net income rose year over year to ¥358.0 million, or ¥89.98 per share, from ¥102.0 million, or ¥25.63 per share.
For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled ¥308.97 per share, a gain of 19.7% from ¥258.19 per share in the prior year.
Normalized net income was ¥1.23 billion, a gain of 19.6% from ¥1.03 billion in the prior year.
Full-year total revenue totaled ¥126.42 billion, compared with ¥125.42 billion in the prior year, and total operating expenses came to ¥124.74 billion, compared with ¥123.96 billion in the year-earlier period.
The company said reported net income increased 26.3% on an annual basis to ¥1.60 billion, or ¥402.12 per share, in the full year, from ¥1.27 billion, or ¥318.37 per share.
