Georgia Power to redeem $250M of senior notes

Georgia Power Co. plans to redeem $250 million of its 5.40% series 2008B senior notes due June 1 on April 27.

The redemption price will be equal to the greater of 100% of the principal amount of the notes, or the sum of the present values of remaining scheduled principal and interest payments on the notes, plus, in each case accrued interest, according to a March 28 news release.

Georgia Power is a subsidiary of Southern Co.
