Verizon Media launches new privacy-focused search engine

Verizon Media LLC launched a new ad-supported consumer search engine with increased privacy features.

Called OneSearch, the new search engine does not track, store or share personal or search data with advertisers, the company said in a Jan. 14 news release. The search engine's privacy-focused features do not include cookie tracking, retargeting or personal profiling, or storing of user search history.

Businesses can partner with Verizon Media to integrate OneSearch into their privacy and security products. OneSearch is available now for the North American market on desktop and mobile web.

The platform will be available via mobile app on devices running on Alphabet Inc. unit Google LLC's Android operating system and Apple Inc.'s iOS devices later this month, with plans to launch in other countries soon.
