Toyo Suisan Kaisha fiscal Q3 profit falls YOY

Toyo Suisan Kaisha Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2014, amounted to ¥58.01 per share, a decrease of 14.2% from ¥67.60 per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥5.92 billion, a decline of 14.2% from ¥6.91 billion in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin declined to 5.3% from 6.4% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue increased year over year to ¥111.81 billion from ¥107.43 billion, and total operating expenses grew 6.1% on an annual basis to ¥102.62 billion from ¥96.72 billion.

Reported net income declined 14.8% on an annual basis to ¥6.42 billion, or ¥62.84 per share, from ¥7.53 billion, or ¥73.73 per share.

As of Feb. 13, US$1 was equivalent to ¥118.68.
