Alrosa's diamond sales decline to US$405.3M in April

PJSC Alrosa's diamond sales totaled US$405.3 million in April, declining from US$559.5 million in March, the company said May 10.

Rough diamond sales came in at US$396.2 million, while polished diamond sales totaled US$9.1 million.

The Russian diamond producer's total diamond sales in the January to April period reached US$2.01 billion, with rough diamond sales amounting to US$1.98 billion and polished diamond sales totaling US$32.9 million.

"In January-April, world markets saw consistent high demand for rough diamonds. In April, diamond trade traditionally slowed down due to seasonality," deputy CEO Yuri Okoyomov said.
