EDF Renewables inks operations, maintenance contract for 3 Texas wind farms

EDF Renewable Energy Inc. signed a contract with Phoenix Wind Repower LLC to provide operations and maintenance services for three wind farms in Texas.

Under the agreement, the Electricité de France SA subsidiary will provide asset management, balance of plant management, remote monitoring and NERC compliance services for the 225-MW Trinity Hills, the 145-MW Sherbino Mesa 2, and the 60-MW Silver Star wind projects.

The facilities will be repowered with Vestas wind turbines by 2020, according to a Jan. 7 company news release. The agreement will bring EDF Renewables' asset optimization portfolio to over 2,300 MW in Texas, covering 15 projects, according to the company.

Phoenix Wind Repower LLC is a portfolio investment of a fund managed by Ares Management Corp.
