Japan's seasonally adjusted industrial production rose 0.3% month over month to 104.4 in April, down from 1.4% growth in March, data from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry showed May 31.
Shipments rose 1.8% from March, while inventories declined 0.4%, and the inventory ratio was down 2.9%.
Companies expect production to pick up by 0.3% in May and decrease by 0.8% in June.
