The U.S. administration on Oct. 18 announced fresh sanctions on Cuba over the Latin American country's support for Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro.
The Department of Commerce's Bureau of Industry and Security will further tighten Cuba's access to commercial aircraft and other goods by revoking existing licenses for aircraft leases to the country's state-owned airlines. Future applications for such leases will also be denied.
The White House will also add more foreign goods that contain U.S.-origin items to its existing sanctions on Cuba.
