Total U.S. nuclear plant availability climbed early Jan. 27 to 96.11%, up from 95.56% on Jan. 26 and above the 91.11% reported on the same day in 2016.

Also, Southern Co. Inc.'s Hatch 1 in Georgia, which had been offline Jan. 26, was operating at 33% as of early Jan. 27.

Conversely, PG&E Corp.'s Diablo Canyon 2 unit in California saw output trimmed from 98% on Jan. 26 to 55% as of early Jan. 27.
