Nutritional Holdings fiscal H2 loss narrows YOY

Nutritional Holdings Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second half ended Feb. 28 amounted to a loss of 1.8 million rand, compared with a loss of 2.6 million rand in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis.

Total revenue rose 8.2% on an annual basis to 18.5 million rand from 17.1 million rand, and total operating expenses came to 21.0 million rand, compared with 20.9 million rand in the year-earlier period.

Reported net income totaled a loss of 1.1 million rand, or a loss of 0 cents per share, compared to a loss of 4.2 million rand, or a loss of 0 cents per share, in the prior-year period.

For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled 3.0 million rand, compared with a loss of -3.8 million rand in the prior year.

Full-year total revenue increased year over year to 37.8 million rand from 36.3 million rand, and total operating expenses totaled 41.8 million rand, compared with 41.9 million rand in the year-earlier period.

The company said reported net income came to a loss of 3.2 million rand, or a loss of 0 cents per share, in the full year, compared with a loss of 6.1 million rand, or a loss of 0 cents per share, the prior year.

As of May 29, US$1 was equivalent to 12.15 rand.
