Italian tax authorities said Dec. 15 that Amazon.com Inc. will pay €100 million to settle a tax dispute in the country, Reuters reported.
The sum covers taxes that Italy's inland revenue service said Amazon owed between 2011 and 2015, according to the report.
The settlement follows a statement from Italian authorities in April that the e-commerce giant owed between €120 million and €130 million in taxes, Reuters reported.
Amazon did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the settlement.
The decision comes after the European Commission said in October that Luxembourg should recover about €250 million in taxes that Amazon had avoided paying between 2006 and 2014.
