Tainan Enterprise Q4 loss narrows YOY

Tainan Enterprise (Cayman) Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fourth quarter came to a loss of NT$1.64 per share, compared with a loss of NT$6.37 per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was a loss of NT$49.3 million, compared with a loss of NT$190.7 million in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin climbed to negative 18.3% from negative 39.6% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue declined 44.0% year over year to NT$269.7 million from NT$481.4 million, and total operating expenses fell 53.6% year over year to NT$366.8 million from NT$789.9 million.

Reported net income totaled a loss of NT$79.5 million, or a loss of NT$2.66 per share, compared to income of NT$13.0 million, or 43 cents per share, in the year-earlier period.

For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled a loss of NT$9.68 per share, compared with a loss of NT$18.12 per share in the prior year.

Normalized net income was a loss of NT$289.9 million, compared with a loss of NT$542.7 million in the prior year.

Full-year total revenue decreased 30.2% on an annual basis to NT$1.10 billion from NT$1.58 billion, and total operating expenses decreased 33.5% year over year to NT$1.61 billion from NT$2.43 billion.

The company said reported net income totaled a loss of NT$465.4 million, or a loss of NT$15.54 per share, in the full year, compared with a loss of NT$556.3 million, or a loss of NT$18.57 per share, the prior year.
